LUCAS MALEC
Perspective Over Limitations • Fine Art & Wildlife Photographer
Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Documenting the raw majesty of Irish wildlife, sanctuary micro-moments, and unvarnished urban candids through high-end optics from a rollator walker and wheelchair.
🏛️ Upcoming Solo Exhibition: Larne Museum & Arts Centre
September 2027 • Victoria Road, Larne, Northern Ireland
Following the acclaimed 2024 museum exhibition “Portraits of Belonging: Faces of Northern Ireland”, Lucas Malec returns for a major solo showcase. Previews of selected works and strictly limited Master Prints (A3+) are currently in active curation.
Three Defining Pillars of Work
Every frame born of patience, stillness, and technical discipline.
🦅 Wildlife from a Walker
Observing Northern Irish fauna at eye level. From the meditative stillness of Kiltonga’s Grey Heron to Saltee Island puffins, captured with telephoto reach and boundless patience.
🌿 My Garden Friends
A personal healing sanctuary. Contemplative micro-stories, garden avian life, and quiet resilience captured through tactile manual optics (Zeiss Flektogon, Voigtländer APO).
🏙️ Street from a Walker
Authentic Belfast street documentary. Historic Victorian market light, candid human expressions, and urban rhythm documented from a natural lower vantage point.
Artisan Fine Art Studio
We honor the physical print as the ultimate manifestation of photography. No outsourced mass lab production — each edition is crafted in our Belfast studio on a calibrated Epson EcoTank ET-8550 pigment system using 100% cotton museum rag.
