The Silver Lady in the Enchanted Garden: How Photography Overcomes Barriers

When I stood before that old, ivy-covered gate, I felt I was crossing the boundary between the ordinary and the magical. The garden that opened before us looked as if it had been lifted straight from a fairy tale about an enchanted kingdom. Old trees intertwined their branches into a green canopy, and winding paths seemed to invite us to discover secrets hidden in the heart of this place.

The Magical Setting
In the very heart of the garden stood a house – not so much abandoned, but rather slumbering lightly, waiting to be awakened. Inside, in a room whose walls bore traces of long-gone eras, stood a huge wardrobe. As soon as we saw it, it immediately reminded us of a passage to Narnia. It was right here, in this extraordinary setting, that the shoot with Vida was to take place, who embodied the character of the Silver Lady – the guardian of this magical place.

Challenge and Determination
I woke up that day feeling it would be one of those worse days. The pain and fatigue, constant companions of my disability, were making themselves known with double the force. I was almost certain I wouldn’t be able to participate in the shoot. But as soon as I saw the light passing through the dusty windows and felt the unique atmosphere of this place, something inside me protested. I decided I wouldn’t give up without a fight.

Thanks to the support of Łukasz, who helped me organize the workspace to minimize the need for moving around, I could focus on what was most important – creating. We set up equipment in strategic points, and I was able to photograph mainly from one position, saving my strength.

Magic in the Frame
Vida moved through this fairy-tale setting with grace and naturalness, as if she truly was the spirit of this place. Her silver dress shimmered in the sunrays filtering through the leaves, and every her gesture seemed part of a larger, magical story. I photographed her among the old trees, by the rusty gate, in the room with the wardrobe that could be a gateway to another world.

Despite physical limitations, that day I managed to create some of the most magical photos in my career. Every frame tells a story about beauty that has survived despite the passage of time, about the power of imagination, and about how true art is often born where determination meets inspiration.

Well-Deserved Rest
When the last frame was captured, I felt both relief and pride. Relief because my body was demanding rest, and pride because I didn’t give up and we created something truly special. Sitting in the car on the way back, I browsed through the photos taken and smiled to myself. I knew that the difficulties I overcame that day were worth this result.

This shoot proved to me once again that passion and determination can overcome even the greatest obstacles. And magic? Sometimes you just need to look around to see that it’s everywhere around us – in an old house, in an overgrown garden, in the sunrays passing through leaves, and in the strength of the human spirit that doesn’t give up easily.
