Sometimes, one day is enough to recharge your batteries for weeks. For me, that day was a recent visit to the Ulster Folk Museum, where my friends organized a 1920s-style photoshoot for me. They wanted to get me out of the house, give me a moment of joy, and show me that even in tough times, beauty and inspiration can be found.
Organizing the Day
It all started with an idea from Lukas and Natalia (the ones who organized the day). They came up with the concept of travelling back in time to the era of jazz, flappers, and elegant suits. Thanks to them and OhVibe Creative Collective, I felt like a real photographer on a movie set.
Ulster Folk Museum
The location was perfect! The Ulster Folk Museum is a true journey through time, and thanks to the incredible staff who provided me with an electric wheelchair for the disabled, I was able to move around freely and enjoy every moment. It was a huge gesture that made me feel independent.
The Photoshoot
The main models were Łukasz and Natalia Pacholczyk, (who embodied a 1920s couple. Their outfits were meticulously detailed, and the makeup was done by the amazing Paulina Worwag (@paulinaworwag). As the Photographer with a Walker, I had the pleasure of capturing these magical moments.
Fighting Depression
This day wasn’t just about photos and fun. It was also an important step in my battle with depression. Thanks to the support of my friends and the museum staff, I felt like I wasn’t alone. Every smile and every word of encouragement gave me strength.
